How is this created? The source image is one photo of the 6" reflecto-sphere (12k) (Yes, it's just the standard garden variety mirror ball). For this shot, we mounted the sphere out on a 5-foot stick, hovering in mid-air. I used PanoTools to turn that sphere image into a flat-file image (68k) And then PTViewer (Java applet) displays that flat-file image as a virtual reality panorama here. The two white blobs on the road are headlights from a passing car. This was near sunset, so I used about 1/8th sec. exposure. |
